Reviews
Swallows Rest is a gorgeous holiday home and has everything you need to have a fantastic stay. The kitchen is well equipped with really good appliances and pots and pans. The beds are super comfy with really lovely bedding and the view from all the bedrooms is gorgeous. The showers are great, hot water was never a problem and the towels were lovely (plenty of them). The sofas were so comfy. The wildlife outside was a pleasure to watch and the view in general is just gorgeous. The pictures don't do it justice. I'll admit I was slightly concerned that as a working farm it would be noisy but we didn't hear a thing and the house points in the opposite direction so you wouldn't know it was there! Rachel was great with communication and was quick to sort anything needed, her parents live on the farm and popped by to welcome us and say goodbye and tell us that they were there if needed. The location is also great, easy to get to on a long drive and really quick access to Alnwick!
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Swallows Rest. The house is a great example of open-plan living design done right and the garden area was perfect for young children. We even got lucky with some nice weather. The views from the property are fantastic and the abundance of local wildlife, plus the horses and sheep were very welcome visitors each morning! We had day trips to Holy Island, Seahouses, Beadnell, Alnwick and Bamburgh - plenty of nice places to explore. We would definitly stay here again. Thanks again to the hosts.
Wonderful 7 night stay at Swallows Rest. Very clean and comfortable accommodation with everything you need for a weeks stay with three kids… particularly the washing machine and tumble dryer! Very spacious and loved the balcony upstairs. Stunning views over the fields and very friendly hosts next door. Perfect enclosed garden for the pooch. Great location for getting away from it all and short drives to town, beaches, castles. Highly, highly recommend!!
