1940’s Weekend at Bamburgh Castle

Step back in time and celebrate the spirit of 1940’s Britain at iconic Bamburgh Castle.

An action packed weekend featuring Military Vehicle Displays, WW2 Re-enactment groups, American weaponry, Home Guard displays, Despatch rider, Field Kitchen cooking displays plus plenty to keep the children entertained too.

Give Morse code a go (can you decipher it?)  make a paper Spitfire, set up a Battlefield with toy soldiers, follow our aircraft and ship trail and lots more!

Exclusive evening gardens tour at Belsay Hall

English Heritage in partnership with the National Garden Scheme is delighted to be offering you the chance to experience the beautiful gardens of Belsay Hall in the early evening when the site is closed to the public on Tuesday the 10th of June.

Dads of the animal kingdom at Alnwick Castle

On Sunday 15th June, Zoolab presents an engaging animal show in the Guest Hall at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm, with drop-in sessions throughout the day. Children can meet various animals and learn about their habitats and behaviours. Find out more here 

Knight School at Alnwick Castle

On June 19th and 20th, Mark Vance offers special sessions for children to learn the arts of chivalry and combat. Participants can engage in swordplay and other knightly activities, immersing themselves in medieval traditions.

Blyth Live Music Festival

A free, family-friendly festival featuring live music, food stalls, and rides. Headlined by the Bay City Rollers, the event runs from 11 AM to 9 PM on June 21st. Find out more information here.

Run Northumberland Bamburgh 10K

Take part in a scenic, traffic-free 10K race with views of Bamburgh Castle. Suitable for runners aged 15 and over. Date: 15th of June. Visit Run Nation for more info. 

Northumberland Festival of Sport

June 7th-8th, A weekend of open water swims, triathlons, and aquabike events for all ages and abilities at Druridge Bay Country Park. Register to take part here.

Northumberland Wildlife Spectacular

If you’re a photography lover be sure to take part in a wildlife photography tour focusing on seabirds, seals, and possibly dolphins, including visits to the Farne Islands and Coquet Island. Date: 18th-20th of June.
