Book your stayAt our cottages and our yurt, we aim to provide everything you may need for a comfortable and cosy stay. All bedding and towels are provided along with some travel size toiletries such as shampoo and conditioner.
A welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and loo roll will be available for your arrival along with a starter pack of kindling and logs for your first night.
Heating in our cottages is included in the cost of your stay. The radiators will be on programmed timers and some may be over night storage heaters.
Each cottage also has a log burner, logs and kindling will be provided for your arrival, however more logs can be purchased from Northumbrian Hamper and the petrol station in Seahouses.
At our Yorkshire Yurt the only source of heat is the wood burner, some logs are provided and more are available to purchase during your stay.
We know for many guests WiFi is essential and for others a holiday is a chance to get away from it all.
All our cottages have WiFi that will allow general use of searching the web and checking emails. However, may not be a strong enough service for streaming and downloading films. Seahouses sometimes struggles for phone service but you can usually find some somewhere. Alternatively, all the WiFi codes are displayed prominently in the cottages.
At the moment there is no WiFi at our Yorkshire Yurt.
One well behaved medium dog is welcome at all our cottages at the additional weekly charge of £20.00.
Guillemot accepts up to two medium size dogs at £20 each.
We believe that your dog is part of your family and with so many beautiful walks and outside adventures, we know they’ll enjoy their stay as much as you.
We do request that dogs do not go on the furniture or in the bedrooms and if they are wet or dirty, please towel dry them before letting them on the carpets.
As part of our T&C we ask that no band breeds of any kind are brought to the properties.
One well behaved dog is welcome to stay at our Yorkshire Yurt, however must be on a lead at all times due to live stock on site. Dog hooks and a long lead are provided at the yurt that we request that you use.
No banned breeds or aggressive dogs will be allowed access to the Yurt site, this is based at our family home and is home to other animals, our own dog and small children.
Unfortunately, not, it’s not that we don’t want much loved family members to join you, however. We do not allow pets on the furniture and for an indoor cat it would be difficult to expect them not to climb on the furniture. Unlike dogs, indoor cats need indoor litter trays which we feel can lead to odours in any of our properties, including our Yorkshire Yurt.
All three of our Seahouses cottages are positioned within approximately 150m of the harbour and within 200m of the coastal path.
Within walking distance, you will find, shops, pubs, restaurants, a chemist, a petrol garage and a supermarket.
Our Yorkshire Yurt is within walking distance of a great local pub, a farm shop and cafe and around 800m walk or a 2 minute drive to the nearest supermarket and fuel station.
There is a large Co-Op on the main street in Seahouses which should have all the essentials you might need for your stay. Alternatively, Alnwick is the nearest town which is 25 minutes’ drive away. Here you’ll find Sainsburys, Morrisons, Aldi and Lidl for a wider choice.
Our Yorkshire Yurt is around 800m/ 2 minute drive from Morrisons. There are other supermarkets further afield in Knaresborough or Harrogate.

Yes, fresh laundry can be arranged if you are staying for longer than a week. Whilst this won’t be a full cottage clean, a change of linen will be discussed with you prior to your arrival. Please ask us when booking if this is a service you would like.

Absolutely! We’d love to help you plan your stay. We have a wealth of information on our website.
If you don’t find the information you are looking for on our website, please drop us an email we’d be delighted to point you in the right direction.
All our properties and our Yorkshire Yurt have parking for at least one car. This information will be supplied to you with your check-in information.
It is important that when staying in one of our Seahouses cottages you park in the designated parking areas provided. Parking in Seahouses in the summer season can be busy and therefore in order to ensure parking at neighbouring properties works smoothly, please park in the marked areas.
Having a car when you visit the area gives the most amount of flexibility due to Northumberland’s rural and coastal location.
If you wish to just use the cottages as a base for walking, many walks can be done from the door step in Seahouses. There are local bus services, and a good source of information can be found here.
https://www.northumberlandcoastaonb.org/getting-around/
Even if you arrive by car for your holiday, the coastal bus service can be a good option to get to you back to the cottage if you’ve walked one way.
There are main train stations at Berwick upon Tweed and Alnmouth near Alnwick. A much smaller village station can be found at Chat Hill.
We want you to enjoy your holiday as much as possible. If for any reason you can no longer attend the break you have booked, we will always do our best to accommodate you on alternative dates or an alternative cottage if suitable. This will be subject to the availability and may mean an increase or reduction in cost depending on the time of year. There may be an administration change for changing your documentation and we do ask that you request your change of stay in writing or an email to us.
Regrettably electric car charging points are not currently available at any of our properties at the present time.
It is prohibitive to charge a vehicle off domestic sockets in any of our properties and we have the right to ask you to leave and a £100 penalty imposed.
We are always looking to improve our service and we are currently looking into whether further car charging points at our properties is something we can offer.
Car charging points can be found at the following links
https://northumberland250.com/ev-charging-stations
Car charging points can also be found in the following towns and villages:
Alnwick
Bamburgh
Berwick upon Tweed
Cragside
Craster
Keilder
Seahouses
Wooler
(This list is not exhaustive and further points can be found using the two links above)
Our full accessibility statement can be found in the footer of our homepage.
If you have accessibility requirements please do speak to us.
Tern Cottage whilst not specifically tailored for those with accessibility needs, it is, for the majority on one level. (There are two steps into the kitchen and two into the bathroom). Some guests do find this property works for them.
Everyone can enjoy the beaches in Northumberland too with the help of Beach Access North East
The yurt is around 200 meters from the parking area and a trolley will be provided for moving your own luggage.
Accessing the yurt is over grass which at times can be uneven and there may be hens roaming en route.
If you have mobility difficulties we request that you discuss your stay with us before booking.
Yes, we will always endeavour to have your hot tub ready for you for when you arrive. Safety instructions are provided at the property and we ask that you always read these before using the tub.
No, we request that you do not empty and re-fill the hot tub, the water has chlorine tablets in it and will last for 3-4 days. After this time we will empty and refill the tub for you if your stay is longer than 3-4 days.
This is to prevent damage to the hot tub.
The hot tub will be emptied, cleaned a refilled after each guest stay.
We have taken the decision for the yurt site to be adult-only. Unfortunately at this time, we feel the site doesn’t have enough to offer families.
